Located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico Loving Thunder Therapeutic Riding was given a grant to pilot a new program entitled, “Equine Assisted Activity for Foster Care Children”. This program is in its second year of funding and has met its goal of serving foster children and families with the power of horses to teach trust, instill self-confidence, demonstrate emotional control, and enhance scholastic achievement. Loving Thunder believes horses have a unique ability to help people realize their feelings by giving immediate feedback without judgement and with consistency.
